I coach golfers of every level at John Sikes Golf Academy, inside the Golf Performance Center at Eagle’s Bluff in Bullard, Texas, a short drive from Tyler.

My story

I grew up competing as a multi-year regional and state qualifier and finished state runner-up in 2005. I went on to play at McLennan Community College, where I earned Academic All-American honors.

I’ve also worked as an Assistant Golf Professional in Corpus Christi at Lozano Golf Center and Oso Beach Golf Course. I also have a background in personal fitness and nutrition, which still shapes how I coach today.

Today I’m a PGA Associate and Teaching Professional with John Sikes Golf Academy at the Golf Performance Center, where I teach beginners, women, juniors, and golfers coming back to the game.

How I teach

I believe golf is more than mechanics. It’s patience, discipline, resilience, and getting to know yourself. My coaching is personal and encouraging, and I’m not chasing a “perfect” swing.

  • Your goals first. We start with what you want from the game, whether that’s your first solid shot, breaking a score, or playing with family.
  • Small, practical changes. We make smart adjustments around your natural tendencies instead of rebuilding everything at once.
  • The whole player. My fitness and nutrition background means we work with how your body moves, not against it.
  • A plan you can follow. You leave each lesson knowing what to practice and why, and Trackman technology helps us see what’s changing.

Where I teach

Golf Performance Center at Eagle’s Bluff
700 Eagles Bluff Blvd, Bullard, TX 75757 · John Sikes Golf Academy

The GPC is open to the public and sits just outside the Eagle’s Bluff gate, so you don’t need to be a member. It’s a 27-acre practice facility with a 5-acre short game area, a 12,000 square foot putting green, a driving range with Trackman technology, covered hitting bays, and an indoor simulator.
